Hey, I'm not married yet but urbunnie is on my friends list and yesterday she was refering me to some married communities (as my wedding is in four weeks). I saw you posted in one about working opposite shifts. We should compare notes. Jacob and I work opposite shifts so I feel your pain. I can tell you what we do, you can tell me what you do. Maybe we'll all still have happy lifts living on different schedules.
Well, during the week, as soon as I get to work, I send him an email. When he wakes up, and is checking his email, he replies to the one I sent, and that my signal to call him.
He just started a new job within the company we work for, but his old job he worked from 3 pm to 11 pm, getting home about 11:30. On Friday nights, I'd wait up for him, and then spend about an hour with him before going to bed.
His new job he works from 3 pm to 1 am, so I'm not sure I'll be staying up on Fridays anymore.
We both usually work on Saturdays, but spend the parts we aren't working with each other.
Then on Sundays we go to church, hang out together, and then we go to a friend's house to play in a rping game.
Jacob works the noon-9 p.m. shift now at a job an hour away from our house. I go to bed at 10 and he's usually not home. 9 p.m. does not mean 9 p.m. in the manufacturing work. He used to work 3-11 p.m. I can obivously wait up for him on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is usually our day but lately (the past few months ) his fmaily has been filling it with crap.
We text message like no one's business. I also call him once or twice during the day. I e-mail him in the morning with anything that I need him to do (run to the post office on his way to work, etc) and he lets me know of anything i can do for him in the evening. We leave sticky notes for each other around the house. It's rough though.

It is hard. I think I'm having a hard time because I still haven't made that many friends in this area, so most nights it's just me and my cat :(
